White Bread
For 1 - 9-inch loaf

Yeast - 8 gms

All purpose flour - 550gm

Room temp water - 385gm (70% hydration)

Sugar - 26 gm

Salt - 10 gm

Butter - 22 gm + 22 gm (1.5 tbsp twice)

Mix yeast and ~100gm warm water. Let yeast activate for 5-10 mins. Sugar can also be added at this stage for activation

add half the flour, 1 or 2 tbsp of butter, remaining warm water and salt. Mix the contents. Wait for a minute and then start kneading

Add the remaining flour as the kneading continues

After kneading for 7-10 minutes, transfer the dough to a greased bowl and let it proof for 70mins to 90 mins

Convert to a ~9x12 rectangle and roll the dough, and transfer to bread tin. Before rolling, different items can be added to make the bread interesting. Like pesto, garlic, etc.

Let it proof for another 30-45 mins

Brush the loaves with melted butter

Preheat over to 400F and bake for 20-25 mins

Remove from oven and brush with more melted butter

Let it cool and eat. Yay!
