Simple All Purpose Flour Cookies
Makes 12 cookies | Total time: 25 minutes
Ingredients
- 150g unsalted butter (softened)
- 80g packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (Optional)
- 200g all-purpose flour (~1β cups spooned & leveled)
- Β½ tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- Β½ tsp salt
- 150g chocolate chips (~1 cup) (Optional)
- Seeds (Optional)
Process
- Pre heat oven to 350F
- Mix dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, choco chips, seeds)
- Mix wet ingredients (egg, vanilla, sugar, butter)
- Mix everything together
- Use ice cream scoop to make balls and arrange in baking tray
- Making balls with hands and flattening them a bit also works - this version will be thin and crispier
- Bake for 12 to 14 mins
Tips for Success
- Butter texture: Should leave a fingerprint when pressed (not melted).
- Donβt overmix: Stop blending as soon as flour disappears.
- Even baking: Rotate sheet halfway if your oven has hot spots.
- Customizations
- Crispier: Bake 13-14 minutes
- Softer: Remove at 10 minutes
