Meatloaf
Ingredients
Meatloaf:
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (can be replaced with ketchup)
- 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
- 1/2 cup minced onion
- 1.5 lbs ground beef
Glaze: - 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar (can be replaced with white sugar)
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce (can be replaced with ketchup)
- 1 tsp yellow mustard (optional)
Instructions
- Prep: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Whisk egg, milk, and 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce in a bowl. In another bowl, combine breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Mix: Combine ground beef, egg mixture, breadcrumb mixture, and minced onion in a large bowl. Mix gently with hands until just combined.
- Shape: Form into a 4"x8"x2" loaf on a rimmed baking sheet.
- Glaze: Stir together ketchup, brown sugar, 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce, and mustard. Spread over meatloaf.
- Bake: 50-55 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Rest 5-10 minutes before slicing
Goes great with mashed potatoes
Pro Tip: Use a baking sheet instead of loaf pan for better evaporation and texture
